Event: Sunday Hyper PKO Showdown

Buy-In: ¥33 (about $4.56)

Pledge: ¥1,000,000 (In the region of $137k)

Date & Time: 06 Apr at 12:00 UTC

Type: Progressive Knockout (PKO), Hyper Turbo structure

Why so “Hyper”? Because it goes in nanoseconds. The blinds increase rapidly, the players are eliminated more quickly and the entire tournament is finished in about four hours. It’s the ideal mix for players who like their Sunday poker fix to be short, sweet, yet action-packed.

How It Works

Progressive Knockout Basics

In a PKO, every player has a bounty on his or her head when the tournament begins. Every time you take someone out, you instantly receive a cash reward — and your own bounty increases. As you go further, your bounty expands, making you a target for other players. It’s a nice risk-reward dynamic that makes every hand exciting.

Paying It Forward, Gigantic Future

The ¥33 buy-in is dirt cheap. And whether you’re a new player testing the waters on the online poker scene, or a more experienced grinder searching for the affordable route to a big diamond, this event has something for everyone. The best part? With just a couple bucks, the guaranteed pool is a whopping ¥1 million so dream big.

Hyper Turbo Structure

Blinds rise at blistering speed, making action nonstop and ensuring no one can simply sit back and fold to the money. This format incentivizes players who pay attention, adjust on the fly and aren’t afraid to get their chips in when it matters.

Participation Requirements

WPT Global Account: Ensure you are signed up on WPT Global, with your account fully verified. If you haven’t done this, it’s typically pretty simple — just follow the prompts in the app or online.

Buy-In & Registration: Now your account is funded, simply go to the tournament lobby, find the “Sunday Hyper PKO Showdown” and enter for ¥33 ($4.56). Registration usually starts well in advance of start time, so feel free to join even a little early.

Start & End Times: The tournament begins on April 6 at 12:00 UTC. This will cue up the hyper-turbo blinds, so expect a finish in about four hours. This is ideal if you desire an intense poker experience without dedicating a full day.

Prizes & Bounties

Guaranteed Prize Pool: The pot will not lower to ¥1,000,000 ($137k) regardless of how many players register. You’ll never find this level of guarantee for a buy-in of this size, which is why the Sunday Hyper PKO Showdown is creating so much buzz.

Progressive Bounties: Each knockout is immediate cash in your pocket, and it adds to your own bounty. The further you proceed, the more you can make, even before the final table. It’s a great way to collect a pile of winnings on your climb to the top.

Short & Sweet: This event’s hyper-turbo format means you’ll know your fate relatively quickly, unlike some marathon tournaments. That means more action crammed into less time — and if you’re on a heater, you might come away with big bucks.

Why You Shouldn’t Miss It

Great Value: You’re spending a couple of dollars for a chance to win a large fixed pool. That’s a scenario any poker enthusiast would dream to find themselves in.

Thrilling Action: They don’t throw in for PKOs — that’s an extra layer of drama — every knockout is a mini victory and a mini pay bump.

Quick Sunday Fun: You do not have to eliminate your entire weekend. It’s a four-hour shot of pure adrenaline that slots conveniently into your schedule.
